MY TOP TIPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE BUYING THERE FIRST CAR
The day young teens dream of, passing there driving test. Don't rush into buying a car because its very important to take your time & research different options. Everyone thinks s small 1 litre box car like a 1.0 Lupo will be the cheapest to insure, but this isn't the case because i found in my area that its cheaper to insure something like Citroen C4 1.6 cachet 2007 or something like that providing it wasn't a Ford Focus ST (which we would love to have).
There are many different variables in insurance so it wont be the same for you guys, but i recommend trying out different cars to insure, I think you'll be surprised by what cars you can insure for a reasonable price.
MY TOP TIPS
- Work out the cost per month for the car, including insurance & fuel etc.
- Extra Money aside for maintenance, Tyres, Brakes & Exhausts.
- Shop around for the best insurance quote, try as many as possible to you have the best selection of quotes
- Try get your own insurance, not on your parents because it will help a few years down the line
- Understand basic maintenance of a car so you can do it yourself & save the cash
- Check the background of the car before purchase, make sure there is a full history with the car & A HPI Check
The Cars I reckon are worth checking out:
- Mini Cooper 1.6 - Normally reasonable for insurance considering the car has a lot to offer & is perfect for any young driver.
- Ford Fiesta Zetec S - Any age of this car new or old they are cheap to insure, they a good little sporty car .
- Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Limited Edition - Normal choice for young driver, a bit bland in my opinion but its still an option because insurance is so cheap.
